16 hours, local time, the house lights on, a time worthy of a Halloween Dunkirk, all for depression ... And yet the mood is set fair !!!!!! I laughed (inside of course) today, seeing all international students depressed by the time the last few days! Personally, I feel in my element, it is raining, you must turn on the lights to 15 hours, there is wind (at least 100km / h: this is a lie and a dedication to those who you are) in short, nothing really revolutionary for me! So I continue to approach each day with a smile!
The days go by and do not look alike, after a weekend of sightseeing begins a new course every week as interesting as each other!
A small summary of the weekend: Friday: no classes then transferred to the big mall to buy clothes a little warmer given the temperature outside that day! The afternoon ends with a Japanese restaurant (delicious, and yes ... I know, only a month and already so many changes!) Friday evening, the anniversary of Bonnie in her house she shares with three other roommates The invitation is 8 hours, but I was taught that here we must always point to 1:30 or 2 hours after the time of invitation, otherwise we're not hype! So full of desire to adopt the attitude of hype, we're finally to 22:30 pm at Bonnie!
First comment: it's a birthday, so obviously it was a gift, and many fancy she almost cried when he was offered! Apparently here, birthday or not, you come to a party empty handed (not even a bottle of alcohol, nothing!)
Second point: the red cup !!!!!!!!!!!! Small inner emotions when you handed me my first cup red ... (A short explanation for those who are lost: the red cup, as its name suggests, is a cup! And yet ... it means so much a fan of American TV series since I have eyes and ears to watch TV, the goblet Red is the symbol of American youth as seen in movies and series) where the euphoria about a single cup, I tried to explain to people but I think that 'They just believe that I am a fetishist of the cup!
Third remark: the party houses are exactly as we imagine: music, people, games of alcohol (Beer Pong: I will come back to that later) girls who are in their suits light brushing with a worthy 60's (as well say that me and my hair shit, it was felt a little lonely!)
Fourth and final point: Canadians a remarkable kindness: not a single second I was alone that night (I already came with Nanako and Joan) but what struck me most is that they are all friends for 3 years, everybody knows everybody, so one could believe that they keep to themselves, well, quite the contrary, when someone new arrives, it takes you and we introduce you to this person, you argue for super long because people love to ask you some questions (especially when you're French!) So this is a great evening, full of meetings and a very good atmosphere!
With one of my roommates: David
Suffice to say that when the alarm rang at 7:30 the next morning, I was a real bulldog! Meet at 8:30 for exploring the Niagara Falls with other international students. After 3 hours of travel (during which I had to watch Night at the museum, but seriously, what's that movie rotten ??!!) we disembarked the bus opposite the falls.
First impression: spectacular, the weather is particularly bad: rain and wind which makes the show even more Awesome! Pretty funny moment: Valeeta (responsible for activities with international students) had explained just before they descend from the bus that was late for the boat trip at the foot of the falls and we had to hurry, he should not therefore disperse to take pictures right away, we would have the opportunity to make 1000 the day anyway! Immediately disembarked from the bus, students rush machines, hand and machine-gun (but then strafe!) Falls, which means we lose the way full, real bullets (how cliche but: c ' is that they love taking pictures Chinese eh!) Anyway, 30 minutes and 1500 pictures later, they decided to join us, and we're dressed in our beautiful blue caps (pictures to support) on board the boat.
The early Canadian Falls:
Canadian Falls:
You can see the American Falls in the distance
In closer now: the American Falls! So although the United States we see: New York State
They are not beautiful all these international students?
And here I am not ready to forget the feeling, the boat takes us to the foot of American Falls (smaller than the Canadian as you can see from the photos) it is obviously tempered with Wind, rain + water falls, the time is surreal ...! When the boat takes us to the heart of Horseshoe Falls, which are shaped like a horseshoe, I can not believe my eyes nor my ears, leaving all their cameras (they are crazy with the water) not me I'm just looking (I also have both hands busy to keep my cape that flies in the wind) and I thought for my paternal grandfather who once told me that the best images were those we had in mind.
is the famous boat: The Heart of Horseshoe Falls Canada:
And now: the blue cape: I look so much class!
out of the boat, feet soaked and hungry, we set out to explore the city. I do not know about you, but I thought that Niagara Falls is just falling and it was in a town named differently! But in fact no: Niagara Falls is a city. A town of some ugly and wrong, basically there were falls, and in good capitalists, humans have sought to exploit it by building a center city a bit ridiculous, full of tourist traps and souvenir shops (because yes: a tee shirt niagara falls, it's funny class!) Everything looks fake, the buildings, shops, there are lights flashing everywhere, so it is 14h, then really disappointing as regards the city !!
A glimpse of downtown:
However, 18 hours, we go back to London, full of spectacular images head ...
